Social Media Reality Check

Learning about social media is never ending; there are multiple apps and programs, but also more importantly, are the niches connected so that you utilize the most effective one for your business. I often attend webinars and conference calls to engage my brain into direct learning from those who are heroes in this field. It’s something business owners need to do, but how much do YOU really have to learn?

I recently experienced a conference call with Wheatmark, a book publishing company in Tucson, AZ, and their use of social media is very important for obvious marketing reasons. But it’s interesting how each kind of business has an opportunity to open doors and expand their business just by participating in social media. Are you already on Facebook personally sharing pictures and keeping in touch with others?

If you only use email for communication or direct mail now for marketing your business, how are you expanding your client base? Advertising dollars are now quickly moving from print media into different arenas within social media because most people are currently using their phones to search out companies or information! That’s a lot of users out there utilizing their phones to watch videos, read blogs, view Facebook, Twitter posts and now they’re looking at mobile friendly websites plus making purchases too.

It’s not difficult to get started and add this mode of marketing unless you have a closed mind to personal growth. Strong statement? How do you prioritize this form of marketing media if you haven’t really gotten involved or done any research?

Ask yourself these questions:

  1. Is my business competition involved in social media for their advertising?
  2. Do I know enough details about how it works or is this something I want to develop through others assistance?
  3. What is holding me back from moving forward with expansion of business through social media?
  4. Am I willing to risk future success any longer?

Start today and begin the process of learning something new plus keep your business focus too. Find sources within your community who offer social media training in order to simplify the process then get involved in the ones that best fit your business! This is a critical element of success in order to streamline your time investment for effective means of communication to potential clients. Have fun getting to know what’s new and exciting in social media while building your client base at the same time!
